You may have heard or seen on social media that we unfortunately had a break in at our community hub a couple of weeks ago, resulting in some tech and donation tins being stolen.
However, we are fortunate that we are part of a wonderful community that has rallied around us, providing help and offering to replace the stolen tech.
We are very grateful to Nick and Paul from Spar who very generously donated a laptop which will allow us to continue to do what we do best – working to improve the lives and wellbeing of our Abbey residents.
To prevent similar incidents from happening in future, we will be striving to make the community hub safe.
Nicky Shepard, CEO, said: “The safety and security of our premises are paramount, particularly for the well-being of our staff, volunteers, and the community we serve. We are a trust-based organisation, and we will keep spreading love to our community.”
Thank you all so much for the support, it has meant a lot to us as we try to focus on helping people. If you’d like to contribute financially toward the costs of making our community hub safe – please do donate here.
