Get Involved

Food Hub

Abbey Food Hub is open three days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. People come for lots of reasons, there is no referral needed.

The Food Hub depends on volunteers and you can get involved from a little as 1 hour a month.

Youth & family activities

Our youth clubs run regularly, and we have a youth coffee truck project, Barnwell Baristas. We run school holiday activities for families and partner with Kings Hedges Family Support on our Abbey Together Project.

Greenspaces

We have lots of greenspaces and conservations projects, from managing the Margaret Wright Community Orchard and community allotment ‘Fox Den’, to conservation projects on Coldham’s Brook. There are lots of ways to get involved from one-off work days to regular gardening sessions.

Community

We have regular seasonal events for the whole community, like our ‘Big Lunch’ and Winter Lights event.

Our Community Coffee Morning runs every Friday morning and is open to all ages to come along, grab a cuppa from the Barnwell Baristas and chat to local people.

Help & Support

There are many ways to get help and support within our community. Our Abbey Food Hub, two general support drop-in sessions and a community coffee morning each week.

In addition, parents can get help at Frazzled Friday (run with The Cambridge Acorn Project).

Consultations

A big part of what we do is helping to make sure the community in Abbey has it’s say in important consultations in the area.

We sometimes host Town Hall events, or help to make sure those least likely to be heard get a chance to get involved.
